Dell SA has announced the integration of OpenManage Client Instrumentation (OMCI) 6.0 as its standard system management suite on all OptiPlex desktops and Dell Precision workstations.
The new version of the software provides all the remote management functionality of previous releases, along with extensive Common Information Model (CIM) support, additional installation flexibility and a suite of advanced administrative tools.
"OMCI 6.0 allows customers to deploy a single instrumentation package across all Dell client products and manage them with the protocol of choice," says Leigh Hancock, product-marketing manager at Dell SA. "That kind of ease and flexibility is important to our customers, particularly those migrating to newer protocols such as CIM."
OMCI 6.0`s modular architecture supports the leading management protocols, including CIM, Desktop Management Interface (DMI) and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
