Dell unveils new enterprise solutions

The company introduced the 12th generation of PowerEdge servers - seven models - some targeted at hyper-scale environments, others optimised for server virtualisation, and one intended for use in small or remote offices.

Information Week says one initiative announced to illustrate the point was a partnership with Microsoft that has produced the Dell Quickstart Data Warehouse Appliance.

"We've transformed our business. We're not really a PC company anymore. We're an end-to-end IT solutions company," said CEO Michael Dell.

The new Dell PowerEdge servers work seamlessly with Dell's storage and networking products and deliver innovations such as turning data into insights faster, Virtual Strategy Magazine notes.

Dell also announced the next-generation EqualLogic PS Series storage arrays, which combine fast networking bandwidth with increased storage capacity in a smaller footprint than previous generations.
