The African continent represents an increasingly important business destination for South African companies. With this in mind, Deloitte & Touche Tax is holding a series of seminars covering the VAT compliance issues for Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia, Lesotho, Mozambique and Zambia.
The seminars will answer the `frequently asked questions` associated with complying with the VAT and other transaction taxes in Africa. Topics include the practical implications of doing business in Africa as well as documentation, provisions, special rulings and penalties in relation to VAT in the different countries.
So-called VAT traps in Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Mozambique will also be covered including, amongst others, importing capital equipment, documentation requirements and agency rules. The seminars will be held at the Deloitte & Touche Auditorium on 10 and 11 June 2002.
Each country will be dealt with individually and delegates can choose to attend the sessions relevant to their business. For further information, please contact Ansley-Jane Hailes on (011) 806 6196.
