Acer has released its latest mobile offering, the TravelMate 370 notebook, designed to ease the burden of keeping in touch with the office when on the move without losing the power and versatility of a desktop computer. While catering for all the needs of an on-the-move lifestyle, the TM370 also sports a powerful processing capability, crystal clear screen and long battery life.
Running from meeting to meeting can absorb much of a working day, leaving little time to get down to real work except for those few minutes normally lost between appointments, says Traci Maynard, Acer product manager at Tarsus Technologies. The TM370 assists users in making the best use of their time, allowing them to run all business applications on their notebook and even contact the office electronically from almost any location.
Of course, looking good is almost as important as performance and the TM370 is encased in an ultra thin-and-light form factor. The one-spindle design provides the thinnest and lightest notebook possible, weighing in at only 1.65kg, but still provides a 12.1-inch screen for crisp, clear images and presentations.
"The look-and-feel is backed by Intel Centrino mobile technology, which not only provides built-in 802.11b or 802.11a/g dual-band wireless connectivity as standard, but also reduces the battery drain," adds Maynard. In addition to wireless technology, the notebook can also connect to the world via a wired LAN or using the built-in modem.
To ensure users are not left with a useless chunk of metal at the most inopportune time, the TM370 includes a high-capacity six-cell battery pack that can deliver up to five hours of battery life, while only requiring a 2.5-hour recharge time.
The TM370 also supports up to 2GB of DDR RAM and a 60GB hard drive to ensure users have the power and resources to do whatever needs to be done, whether in the office or not. Additional features include two USB ports that permit external devices to be plugged in and used with ease, and a built-in three-in-one card reader supports popular memory card formats.
The TM370 also features Acer`s one-button recovery that allows you to reinstall in case something happens to your system. It`s like having a spare tyre in your car boot, adds Maynard.
The TM370 is now available from Tarsus and retails at approximately R13 599 including VAT.
