Local data storage distributor, Dexchange, is pleased to announce the availability of its new Network Attach Storage Appliance Server (NASAS). Housed in a 1U-high rackmount chassis, the NASAS accommodates up to four industry-standard IDE disk drives with capacities of up to 250GB (1TB total).
"The NASAS is ideal for small and mid-sized businesses, corporate entities and educational institutions," said Dexchange CEO, Mike Smith. "It provides an easy-to-use and affordable solution providing fast, reliable, high performance access to data storage and file sharing for services such as software distribution, documents, graphics, databases and e-mail."
The NASAS supports CIFS/SMB, NFS and AFP (AppleShare) file systems, and includes user and group quota allocation, and backup features usually only found in more expensive units. Its journaling file system allows for formatting, partitioning and rebuilding of storage in just three minutes, including support for RAID levels 0, 1 and 5.
The entire network operating system, user configuration data and software also reside in Flash memory, not only making the NASAS ultra-reliable, but also enabling the changing and addition of drives in the field. Configuration is also made quick and easy via a browser-based graphical user interface.
