DiData makes new European acquisition

Johannesburg, 28 Nov 2001

A week after releasing year-end financial results reflecting a 15% drop in operating profit, London- and JSE-listed Dimension has announced its acquisition of Planet CTI, a Belgian integration company, for a purchase consideration of 2.4 million euros.

DiData says Planet CTI will enhance its ability to offer a range of solutions encompassing consultancy, project management and integration of customer interactivity.

Planet CTI specialises in the delivery of computer telephony integration middleware with contact centre technologies.

Planet CTI`s key partnerships include Genesys, Siebel and Accenture. Its customers operate in the vertical market sectors of , insurance and telecommunications, and include AXA, Telecom Italia, Belgacom, Mobistar and Sitel.

"The acquisition of Planet CTI is an important strategic move for Dimension Data," says Don Smyth, senior VP of Dimension Data Europe. "Planet CTI has established itself as a very successful integrator in the call centre arena and this fits closely with Dimension Data`s plans to roll-out customer interactive solutions in Europe."

Bronwyn Goeller, DiData investor relations officer, says the acquisition will be lock, stock and barrel, and Planet CTI management has been tied into a two-year contract.

Goeller says while DiData`s global acquisition plans are nearing completion, the group decided the relatively low cost of the acquisition was well worth netting the skills and customer base, which she says will give DiData Europe a more complete offering in the solutions arena.

News of the acquisition saw the company`s share trading slightly off yesterday`s 1305c close, swapping hands 15c down at 1290c by midmorning today.
