Dimension Data subsidiary Datacraft Asia has partnered with EMC Corporation, allowing it to incorporate EMC`s networked storage platforms and open storage management software into its solutions.
The deal also gives information storage solutions provider EMC support for region-wide sales and delivery.
Datacraft Asia says it has also been appointed as an EMC authorised service network (ASN) partner. The ASN programme is a community of select service partners acting as an extension of EMC`s service delivery infrastructure.
"Entering the networked storage market opens up huge pull-through services opportunities for Datacraft in areas such as network storage implementation, storage consolidation, automated storage management, backup and recovery, and high availability, " says Datacraft Asia CEO Ron Cattell.
"As we ramp up our storage surveyor assessment services and storage primer implementation services, these offerings will become key contributors to the company`s service revenue."
Datacraft has signed its first network information storage customer, a service provider in Taiwan, which has commissioned a remote disaster recovery centre for its billing system and Datacraft-supplied service order processing systems.
Datacraft is also taking on training for EMC. Training Partners, Datacraft`s wholly owned IT professional training subsidiary, has signed a letter of intent to deliver product training on behalf of EMC across Asia Pacific and will start to incorporate storage subjects into its own solution-oriented curriculum.
