As more companies venture into the world of digitally-based business operations, so the need for robust, scalable, stable and manageable enterprise IT systems becomes more crucial.
Rob Lopez, group strategic director, network services at Dimension Data points out that the rise of the dot.com generation of businesses has served to underscore the internal and external IT demands facing companies today.

In line with this trend and its commitment to meet the IT infrastructure needs of businesses operating in the New World Economy, Dimension Data has extended its services offering in Enterprise Systems. This technology typically comprises servers, storage, Network Operating Systems (NOS), LANs, messaging systems and system management technologies.
According to Lopez, multiservice networks, which incorporate WAN, Campus, Remote Access, Security, IP Voice and Network Management technologies, cannot be separated from enterprise systems.
"Indeed, certain of the Dimension Data Group operations had started to focus on some of these areas over the years. These initiatives are now being consolidated and extended to provide customers with quality end-to-end enterprise services," he explains.
Dimension Data`s recently announced global alliance with Sun Microsystems forms part of the Group`s enterprise strategy and complements Dimension Data`s long-standing relationships with Microsoft and Compaq.
"Between them, Sun, Compaq and Microsoft account for the bulk of enterprise IT platforms implemented by corporates around the world. These platforms support applications which have become increasingly mission critical.
