Dimension Data first in sub-Saharan Africa to receive Cisco IP Communications Enterprise Specialisation accreditation

Johannesburg, 22 Jul 2004

Cisco Systems today announced that Dimension Data has met all the requirements to achieve its Internet Protocol (IP) Communications Enterprise Specialisation accreditation. Dimension Data is the first Cisco Gold partner in Sub-Saharan Africa to achieve this accreditation.

The IP Communication Specialisation recognises Cisco partners for their knowledge and expertise in selling, designing, installing and supporting comprehensive Cisco IP communication solutions.

"Being awarded Cisco`s IP Communications Enterprise Specialisation has reaffirmed Dimension Data`s commitment to the delivery of advanced IP communication solutions. This commitment bears further testimony to our understanding of the true convergence of IP technologies," says Ian Roy, general manager of Dimension Data`s Network Solutions division.

"Our longstanding partnership with Cisco has enabled us to consistently provide our customers with best-of-breed converged communications solutions. Furthermore, our global footprint and pool of expertise means that we are able to draw on the best skills base to develop our position as SA`s leading IP solutions provider," adds Roy.

"The Cisco Channel Specialisations are designed to help channel partners develop a technology-specific expertise, enabling them to differentiate themselves from the competition," says George Atrash, Channel Manager for Cisco Systems in sub-Saharan Africa. "Dimension Data has proved its credibility and expertise in the field of IP communications and has been justly recognised as the first recipient of this accreditation in sub-Saharan Africa."

In line with the Cisco IP Communications Enterprise Specialisation requirements, Dimension Data is to fill the following roles, with individuals who have met specific testing requirements:
