Global technology services group Dimension Data Holdings has named HSBC as the company with which it has won a lucrative three-year technology and procurement contract.
The group announced earlier this week only that it had won a global technology and procurement contract with a large multinational.
In terms of the deal, the value of which has not been disclosed, Dimension Data will provide procurement of Cisco technologies and supply of services to HSBC worldwide.
HSBC is one of the world`s largest banking and financial services operations.
Dimension Data says it will provide operational and support services globally to HSBC during the exclusive contract period, enabling HSBC to work through a single integration and logistics partner spanning its operations across 78 countries and territories.
"Standardised global processes will be co-ordinated by a central UK-based Dimension Data team, but implemented locally via regional teams aligned with HSBC`s regional telecommunications hubs in the UK, France, USA, the Hong Kong SAR [semi-autonomous region] and Brazil," Dimension Data says.
Dimension Data Logistics will provide a single point of management via its Global Services Operating Architecture.
"This is a major win for us and fully supports our ongoing strategy to provide IT services and solutions to large multinational organisations in order that their worldwide business units can work seamlessly together," says Bruce Watson, Dimension Data executive chairman UK and Europe.
"The creation of a common global infrastructure presents businesses with significant design and operational challenges. We see this latest contract win as an excellent endorsement of our expertise in this area."
