UK-based university launches online international business course

A UK-based university has launched an online international business course.

The MSc and Postgraduate Diploma in International Business will be offered via the University of Ulster`s Campus One, a provider of distance learning courses.

"E-learning allows people to reach their full academic potential in an innovative and creative way, without having to sacrifice their careers," says course director, Helen Shiels in a press statement.

"The programme should lead to career progression by offering employees and entrepreneurs an opportunity to develop their business skills and experience in the international marketplace."

Real estate schools go hi-tech

"Generation X" students are more comfortable in an online environment and are increasingly using the to further their professional development, said Stefan Swanepoel, CEO of RealtyU, a of real estate schools in the US.

"Of the more than 300 000 agents trained by RealtyU Schools and Colleges last year, 12% chose the online option for their licensing, continuing and designation courses," he said in an interview with RISMedia.

Distance-learning providers are beginning to create an online environment that mimics and reproduces classroom interaction in a virtual setting, he said.

Online real estate training does have its benefits, says Swanepoel. "In today`s mad rush toward maximising and leveraging the shortage of time, real estate professionals must set aside time to meet their state`s regulatory requirements for continuing education."
