New repair centre, DR Squared (Data Repair and Recovery) has been officially launched in Gauteng. The company is focusing on data recovery, as well as concentrating on the growth areas of repair and re-manufacturing of hard-drives and tape-drives.
DR Squared is targeting dealers, IT managers and the consumer market and offers a high repair and recovery success rate coupled with competitive pricing.
Says DR Squared MD Lawrence Polkinghorne: "With the current tight economic climate, the local IT sector is under tremendous pressure. The current strong focus on value-added services creates an ideal opportunity to introduce a repair centre catering for cash-conscious organisations still wanting a high level of service. Our doors are also open to individual consumers.
"DR Squared is ideally positioned to take advantage of growth expected within the IT repair and remanufacturing sector," he adds.
According to Polkinghorne, the company`s strategic partnership with CSSA brings with it a 99% chance of successful data recovery. "No other local company can offer such a high rate of data recovery, only a partial retrieval.
"We can also offer between 40% and 80% savings on hard drive purchases, by swopping out and repairing faulty drives, which are then resold to the channel. This presents a number of benefits for South African resellers, offering then the opportunity to drop off faulty equipment and pick up repaired stock which can be sold back into the market."
The company offers a one-year warranty on equipment, which also allows resellers to offer insurance to their clients.
DR Squared is currently investigating online facilities and has already set up a Johannesburg office with a headcount of six. Future plans for the centre also include opening repair expertise up to other equipment, such as modems and monitors.
