Fujitsu Siemens Computers has announced its new CELSIUS M440 workstation, a mid-range model which combines the latest chip technology with significantly improved ergonomic features and the leading European IT manufacturer`s Green Technology.
The new chassis design of the single-processor CELSIUS M440 workstation (with Intel i955X chipset) reduces operating noise by nearly 50% to only 25dB.
Surveys carried out by Fujitsu Siemens Computers revealed that having a quieter workstation is a top customer priority. Always eager to fulfil its customer wishes, the German market leader has been focusing its attention on minimising noise by optimising chassis design and fan control.
The company also focused on improving performance while still being environmentally responsible. The new Intel i955X chipset allows the extension of storage capacity beyond the traditional 4GB threshold. When used with Extended Memory 64 Technology, the CELSIUS M440 is the first single-processor workstation to offer genuine 64-bit support.
Based on Fujitsu Siemens Computers Green technology, the lead content in the mainboards has been reduced from 12g to 1g. The printed circuit boards are halogen-free, and the housing contains no environmentally damaging flame retardants.
The CELSIUS M440 was developed for all established workstation applications, including CAD and CAE, visualisation and virtual reality, financial services and analyses, digital content creation and software development. It is, of course, also certified for all popular applications used in these areas.
