Distributed Processing Technology (DPT), a leading supplier of high-performance SCSI and Fibre Channel RAID solutions for servers and workstations, recently conducted live demonstrations of several new products at PC EXPO in New York City.
DPT's new Fibre Channel controller (also includes Ultra Wide SCSI), the SmartRAID V Century, simultaneously powered the new RAIDstation TM7 Fibre Channel Storage Array and the new RAIDstation 14 Ultra SCSI Storage Array. DPT's ServerOnCall server failover solution was demonstrated live using multiple RAIDstation 3 Ultra SCSI Storage Arrays.

Fibre Channel Storage Solution
The 120 compliant SmartRAID V Century (PM2554U-F) is the world's only controller with Fibre Channel and Ultra Wide SCSI on a single half-size card. It offers intelligent overhead functions from the host CPU.
In contrast with non-intelligent adapters, those not incorporating an on-board processor, this lowers host CPU utilization resulting in overall system performance enhancement and a reduction in the total cost of ownership.
Features include RAID 0, 1, and 0+1 with RAID 5, 0+5 and support for up to 64 MB of ECC or non-ECC memory via the optional RA4050 RAID Accelerator module. OS support includes Windows NT, SCO OpenServer 5, SCO Unix 3.2.4.2 and NetWare.
Available in tower (DPT-RS/7F) or rackmount (DPT-RS/7FR) versions. The RAIDstation7 Fibre Channel Storage Array features power and cooling redundancy and support for seven hot swap , dual-port, SCA-2 Fibre Channel hard drives in capacities to18GB and speeds to 10 000 rpm.
Support is incorporated for Fibre Channel-Arbitrated Loop, copper or fibre optic connections, dual redundant loops with integrated port bypass circuitry, and SCSI Enclosure Services (SES) environmental monitoring and reporting. For demanding applications requiring high speed throughput up to 200MB/s and maximum device connectivity at distances up to 10 kilometres, these new DPT Fibre Channel products combine to form the perfect total storage solution.
RAIDstation14 Ultra SCSI Storage Array
The RAIDstation14 supports fourteen hot-swappable Ultra Wide SCA-2 hard drives in capacities to 18GB and speeds to 10 000 rpm. Available in tower (DPT-RS/14UWSE) or rackmount (DPT-RS/14UWSER) versions, both models offer power and cooling redundancy and feature the exclusive Ultra SCSI Extender Card (USEC) and the Environmental Fault Bus (EFB).
The USEC incorporates advanced technology allowing fourteen Ultra Wide SCSI hard divers to operate with complete data reliability along a single SCSI bus.
The EFB monitors and reports Storage Array shelf, hard drive, power, and cooling component status and key error events when teamed with compatible DPT SmartRAID and SmartCache Ultra SCSI RAID controllers.
