Dubai school learns online

Edutech Middle East has completed its e-learning programme for the Dubai School of Government, states AME Info.

The e-learning implementation is aimed at increasing learning opportunities that will help students develop adequate career skills for the future.

Dr Mohamed Lahouel, associate dean for academic programmes at the Dubai School of Government, says: “The convergence of technology and the sector has made it possible for students and educators to reap the benefits of more simplified yet dynamic collaboration via technologically-advanced and highly scalable systems.”

Atlantic Link inks e-learning deal

Atlantic Link, provider of e-learning solutions, has entered into an agreement with Landmark ASP Solutions, a technology-focused private firm, reports 24-7 Press Release.

Landmark ASP Solutions will become Atlantic Link's first authorised general services administration (GSA) distributor to promote, market and deliver e-learning applications to all US federal, state and local branches of government.

Mark Sharp, vice-president of North American operations for Atlantic Link, says: "The combined offerings of Atlantic Link and Landmark ASP Solutions will provide GSA and all government customers the ability to integrate world class e-learning solutions that save them both time and money when they truly need it the most.”

DIA debuts online learning programme

The Drug Information Association (DIA), a global pharmaceutical association of more than 18 000 members, has started its new online learning programme, says PharmaLive.

With the recession now a reality, the training industry has been one of the hardest hit. The DIA says online learning provides an affordable and convenient alternative to traditional instructor-led courses.

DIA acting executive director, William Brassington, says: “As the biopharmaceutical industry experiences unprecedented changes, DIA will remain at the forefront of online learning to provide businesses with the ability to retain and develop employees who can compete in a global economy.”
