Local Metastorm Alliance Partner DVT has created a Metastorm training centre to help users maximise the value of their business process management solutions.
Since inception in January, the centre has trained more than 30 people - clients, resellers and partners - at its training rooms in Johannesburg.
"Metastorm`s client base is growing rapidly worldwide; in South Africa this growth is even more pronounced," says Trevor van Rensburg, products director at DVT Gauteng. "This is why we identified the need for training customers and certifying partners. They need an array of choices to grow the value they achieve from their Metastorm investment as they make business process management a core discipline in their organisations."
The instructor, David Peters, is the only Metastorm-certified trainer in South Africa. Courses offered have been designed to match any level of knowledge, starting with the basics and advancing to complex subject matter. Both public and custom Metastorm courses are available.
The Metastorm Developer Course is a four-day course that combines the Metastorm Designer and Metastorm Skillset Enhancer courses, providing a single comprehensive training package for Metastorm developers. It is a requirement for Metastorm`s Developer Certification, which comprehensively tests Metastorm development skills.
Van Rensburg explains: "The growing awareness of business process management has resulted in a demand for related expertise. But not everyone claiming such expertise actually has it. Hence, the creation of Metastorm`s certification programme designed to identify and certify business process management experts. Metastorm Developer Certification also enables recognition and reward for high level knowledge."
Half-day courses offered to customers and partners cover the Metastorm Manager`s Edition Designer or Business Users Edition. These courses are aimed at business people who want to map out processes by defining stages, process pathways, actions, responsibilities and roles.
The designer tool is free and when complete the file from the Managers Edition can be passed to an IT manager or systems analyst to complete the required systems integration and testing before deploying the process.
