E-assessment to replace traditional exams

Traditional exams could be replaced with continuous e-assessments within 15 years, according to a leading expert, states Computing.co.uk.

Simon Lebus, chief executive of Cambridge Assessment, told The Guardian that exam boards are investing millions of pounds developing the technology.

"The likelihood is that in the next 10 to 15 years it will change almost out of recognition, in that by the end of that period of time you'll be able to do exams more or less on demand, onscreen," he said.

Instructional design studio released

The Source Training has released its new Instructional Design Studio vX (IDSvX), says OpenPR.

The IDSvX is designed to complement the Blended Learning Portal LMS, which allows users to access learning content in multiple formats, including Web-based, mobile-based, instructor-led presentations, distance-learning (Web-conferencing), and manuals.

The IDSvX gives designers powerful tools to create, maintain, and translate learning content for delivery in multiple ways.
