E-billing supports tree-planting programme

Dominion Virginia Power, based in the US, is offering its customers two paperless billing programmes that eliminate the expense of postage stamps and paper cheques, says Richard Times Dispatch.

For each new enrolment in April, the companies that operate the paperless programmes will donate $1 to Dominion Virginia Power's Project Plant It programme, an effort to children, plant trees and improve the environment.

About 422 000 Dominion Virginia Power customers have signed up for e-billing. Project Plant It is a partnership between Dominion Virginia Power, the Arbour Day Foundation and local school districts in areas where the company operates.
