E-Data share suspended

Internet-based information and services provider E-Data had its listing on the JSE suspended on Friday at the company`s request.

The JSE announced today that E-Data`s annual financial statement for the year to September 2001 had been qualified.

Subsequently, the counter will also be annotated with a "Q" until such time as it produces an unqualified statement.

The company was warned by the JSE last month that it had not submitted its annual financial statement within the required six months in accordance with JSE regulations.

E-Data had been in negotiations for certain of its assets to be acquired, but as yet no official statement has come from the company as to what its future holds.
