E-fitting room uses 'magic mirror'

Clothes shopping will become easier with the new innovations by IconNicholson and Cisco Systems, says InsideBayArea.com.

IconNicholson has developed a 'magic mirror', allowing the user to see outfits without undressing. Those who do try on clothes can invite friends to see the outfit via the Web.

Cisco has created a system whereby a shopper can electronically check the store's inventory for the correct size garment.

NCR punts self-service

NCR corporation, at its annual summit, introduced an array of new self-service products, according to ATMmarketplace.com.

NCR revealed its Store Wayfinder, which allows the user to search for products by name and provides a map to its location.

Another product introduced was an updated version of the FastLane self-checkout units, including a multi-language option, a -optic scanner and an audio-volume-control button.

NRFtech summit approaches

The annual National Retail Federation's NRFtech IT Leadership Summit is coming up later this year, says Retail .

The summit will be held in the Omni San Diego Hotel from 1 to 3 August, and is open to retail CIOs, VPs and other senior retail technology executives.

Issues to be discussed are IT governance, PCI compliance, digital signage and call centre outsourcing.
