E-health interoperability alliance created

Intel has created Continua, an international alliance of hardware and software providers in order to increase compatibility of e-healthcare devices and software, reports eHealth Insider.

Devices following Continua standards will be compatible with one another and will feature a consumer recognisable logo, in the same fashion as USB or enabled hardware.

It is hoped the adoption of clear industry standards will spur adoption of e-health technology. Manufacturers of other e-health devices such as chronic disease management systems are encouraged to join Continua and make their devices compatible.
