SA-based e-learning company eDegree has formed a partnership with U21Global, an online graduate school.
In terms of the agreement, eDegree will be the sole distributor of U21Global`s range of graduate programmes in Africa and Mauritius.
"The programme will offer post-graduate qualifications including an executive management certificate and diplomas, master`s degrees in business administration, master`s in information system management and a master`s of science in travel and tourism," says Coleen Cloete, new business developer for eDegree.
"eDegree was established in 1998, with the concept of partnering with South African universities to deliver online programmes for students. We are now extending by forming partnerships with international institutions. Our core focus remains Africa and Mauritius.
"Our main student base in Africa is in Kenya. Some of the students have no ICT infrastructure, therefore the Kenya College of Communications has set up a local Internet hub in the learner support centre to help learners access the Internet," says Cloete.
U21Global, established in 2001, is backed by 16 universities, says eDegree. It was awarded the European Foundation for Management Development`s Certification of E-learning, the first worldwide accreditation of e-learning supported programmes in the field of management education, claims eDegree in a statement.
