Gaining experience and developing skills sets from within a company through mentorship and coaching, is taking root on a national basis within HR and payroll administration.
This is according to Margaret Doyle, branch manager at Accsys Cape Town. She adds that the Accsys Payroll Diploma is recognised by the industry and entrenched into the company's ongoing e-learning and virtual education campaign.
She says the company also has an internship and bursary programme that allows learners to gain valuable practical work experience, while studying to acquire the online payroll qualification.
Doyle says the virtual environment, coupled with hands-on experience, is an effective alternative to the traditional payroll skills development and training method of 'being shown the ropes' by someone leaving the position.
"The internship and bursary programme is a very effective method of training and moulding payroll administrators of the future. It is an opportunity we offer to school leavers interested in pursuing a career in payroll," she explains.
