The JSE suspended the EC-Hold share this morning after the company failed to meet a deadline to submit its financial statements.
In terms of JSE rules, listed companies must publish their annual financial statements within three months of the end of their financial years.
EC-Hold, which has a June year-end, was to have submitted its statements by the end of September.
The company said early last month that it expected to publish the results by the end of October. The delay was the result of an investigation being conducted for EC-Hold by auditors Deloitte & Touche, as well as delays in the restructuring of parent MGX Holdings.
However, the results have still not been submitted, causing the JSE to suspend the listing from the start of trade today.
The exchange says the suspension is pending the convening of a meeting of the JSE. An earlier notice said this could result in a termination of the listing.
The MGX share was suspended last month at the request of directors.
