Elvis Mosetle appointed Compuware key accounts manager, government.

Compuware Corporation South Africa has appointed Elvis Mosetle as key account manager for government projects.

Mosetle has been an instrumental figure in several government IT initiatives, having participated in e-government projects as well as the second national operator and Cell C bid processes. He also brings extensive experience with SITA, the DTI and CIPRO, and the Gauteng Shared Services to Compuware.

Having spent more than 10 years handling public service technology projects - most recently heading up the government division at technology vendor Siemens - Mosetle has a deep understanding of the workings of the public sector and has identified areas where he believes Compuware`s solutions can improve service delivery and cost-efficiency.

"When it comes to the government and technology, private companies must understand that the administration is looking for partnerships to assist in delivering on policies, projects and goals that will improve service delivery in this country and simultaneously make it an attractive destination for foreign investors. The private sector must be prepared to invest and help government reach its goals of bridging the digital divide and delivering services to the poorest of the poor in rural areas," says Mosetle.

He points out that the present administration has inherited a wide array of disconnected legacy equipment and systems from the previous government which need to be upgraded. "We all understand the frustration of standing in long queues because technology systems are not working or perform poorly. However, the government cannot afford to just throw these systems out. Compuware can analyse, test and identify problems within these applications as well as integrate disparate technologies for more efficient performance," he says.
