Embarcadero`s income soars

Johannesburg, 17 Feb 2004

Application and lifecycle management solutions provider Embarcadero Technologies boosted its net income from $2.4 million to $5.7 million in the year to 31 December.

The Nasdaq-listed group is represented in SA by Pretoria-based Embarcadero Africa.

Revenue rose from $49.3 million to $51.9 million while diluted earnings per share increased from $0.08 to $0.20.

Chairman and CEO Stephen Wong says the group experienced a solid fourth quarter with increased revenue, profitability and cash flow from operations.

Fourth-quarter revenue of $14.1 million compares with $12.8 million for the same period a year earlier.

Net income for the quarter rose from $1.2 million to $2.5 million while diluted earnings rose from $0.04 a share to $0.09 a share.

"During the quarter we enjoyed other favourable developments including higher revenues from international operations and new products, which should give us positive momentum as we enter 2004," says Wong.
