EMC, Fujitsu Siemens extend strategic alliance to 2008

Johannesburg, 01 Jun 2004

EMC Corporation and Fujitsu Siemens Computers have extended their strategic alliance, enabling the latter to resell the full line of EMC networked storage systems and software in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The reseller relationship, which began in 1997, has been extended through 2008.

Sean Wainer, product manager, enterprise products at Fujitsu Siemens Computers, says EMC`s technology, quality and internal processes provide Fujitsu Siemens Computers and its customers with reliable storage solutions.

"EMC`s networked storage systems and software are key components of our business-critical computing solutions," he says. "The extension underlines our commitment to work together at all levels, from engineering to sales and service, to develop new ways to make sure that our customers get the most value from their information."

Fujitsu Siemens Computers offers EMC`s CLARiiON networked storage systems under the FibreCAT brand name and is the largest reseller of EMC Symmetrix systems. It also offers EMC`s Celerra file servers, Centera content addressed storage (CAS) solutions, Connectrix switches and EMC open software solutions.

In addition, Fujitsu Siemens Computers sells LEGATO`s full line of software for information access, availability and protection as part of a relationship that is now in its eleventh year.

"The markets that Fujitsu Siemens Computers serves are among the fastest growing for EMC," says Alex Robertson, Technology Solutions Group Manager, EMC SA. "The strategic relationship between EMC and Fujitsu Siemens Computers has played a key role in that growth.

"The combination of EMC networked storage systems and software with Fujitsu Siemens servers has provided mutual customers with end-to-end solutions that help them better manage their information throughout its lifecycle. The extension of our relationship will allow us to continue to help customers of all sizes solve some of their most pressing business problems."
