Employability boosted through the new national Computer Sciences Certificate

Johannesburg, 26 Jul 2000

"School leavers who are not considering a career in information technology are most likely to face the harsh reality of unemployment." That`s according to Ms Terry Davies, a director of Technikon Natal and a start-up partner of the Durban and Rivonia training organisation, IT Intellect.

"The bottom line is that the South African job market is not what it used to be," explained Ms Davies.

"Government reports and the latest economic indicators confirm that the information technology (IT) sector is the only area of the job market which is providing and on-going employability."

"Current and continuing high levels of retrenchments and unemployment have resulted in a surplus of job seekers and professionals in sectors other than IT."

To further enhance employability in the IT sector, IT Intellect has introduced an exciting new information technology professionals qualification described as "the hottest new ticket for career advancement."

The National Computer Sciences Certificate is a one-year qualification which embraces six internationally recognised qualifications (while progressing toward the Technikon certificate).

The National Computer Sciences Certificate (NCSC) is a unique offering, only from IT Intellect - the only training organisation in partnership with the Technikons Pretoria and Witwatersrand (Gauteng) and Technikon Natal (KwaZulu-Natal).

"The unrivalled degree of legitimacy promised by IT Intellect`s institutional partnership with the country`s top technikons ensures that our emphasis is on development, not training; on careers, not jobs; and on qualifications, not certifications," she added.

Students who successfully complete the NCSC programme of IT Intellect may claim qualifications in the hugely sought-after N+, MCSE, MCSD, MCDBA and e-commerce areas.

IT Intellect not only meets the standards set by Microsoft, but is also accredited by the Information Technology Sector and Training Authority.

"Candidates are assured that at IT Intellect trainer skills are constantly refreshed and updated through workshops on teaching and learning strategies. IT Intellect`s unique partnership with the Technikons Pretoria and Witwatersrand (in Gauteng) and Technikon Natal (KwaZulu-Natal) empowers it with an unrivalled degree of legitimacy."

Registrations are now open in Gauteng and Durban for January 2001 at IT Intellect only - the exclusively registered provider of the National Computer Sciences Certificate. Register now, space limited to 15 students only.
