Harmonic Group MD Barry Baetu holds 30% of the new company, Ameva Solutions MD Ken Mathu has 30%, operations director Mandla Mtsweni has 30% and project leader Setsetse Miya holds the remaining 10%.

The company will provide real-time solutions on mobile, and collection for the , outlets, utility companies, mines and public institutions. "Ameva will also customise solutions as required," says Mathu.

"The initial target is the South African market and we will at a later stage extend existing and new technologies to other African countries."

Mathu says Ameva has a target of 20% market share. He says that in the interests of simplifying operations and training, Ameva will use the same premises as Harmonic.
