Enterasys Networks has launched a global network blog [http://blogs.enterasys.com] in order to give industry specialists the opportunity to provide accurate perspectives on the changing landscape of the networking industry.
According to Martin May, regional director (Africa) of Enterasys Networks, the site will feature the research of a number of industry luminaries whose opinions will be available for network users to tap into and comment on.
They include:
* Chris Crowell, Enterasys President and CEO. He brings more than 20 years of leadership experience to the role of building collaborative organisations with a customer focus.
* Rich Casselberry, director of IT Operations at Enterasys. He is responsible for the company's IT infrastructure and ensuring that employees around the world have reliable, secure access to the IT resources. He also manages the company's telecom equipment and services, systems support, help desk services, and internal and external Web sites.
* Mark Townsend, director, Solutions Management, at Enterasys. He is a computer networking specialist, contributing to several patents and pending patents in information security over the past two decades. He is an expert in security aspects related to enterprise networks.
“They will discuss various contemporary topics ranging from practical IT advice to technology issues affecting specific vertical industries, along with their thoughts on emerging technologies such as virtualisation, cloud computing, wireless networking, security and regulatory compliance,” says May, who is himself a contributor to the site.
He says the networking industry is going through a transformation phase, with the introduction of cloud computing, the evolution of the data transmission and storage and the influence of social networking in the business space.
“These changes are presenting organisations with new challenges. Correctly harnessed, today's technologies present opportunities for greater efficiencies and growth. As a pioneering company in the networking arena, Enterasys has introduced this blog in order to showcase its expertise in the areas of network design and innovation and provide a forum for the benefits of end-users who would like to position themselves at the cutting-edge of technological developments.”
He adds that the specialists featured on the blog will provide up-to-date insights into the networking industry and encourage active conversations with network users on a global scale around issues destined to influence the market in the near future.
