Enterasys to target enterprise VPN market in SA

By Enterasys Networks
Johannesburg, 16 Mar 2001

Enterasys Networks SA (formerly Cabletron Systems SA) is to target the virtual private (VPN) market in South Africa. This follows the acquisition by Enterasys, in the US, of Indus River Networks, a company specialising in the deployment of operational VPN solutions to corporate customers.

Martin May, Enterasys Networks SA sub-Saharan regional director says low cost, secure and flexible VPNs will become the foundation for e-business implementations of the future.

"Enterasys is poised to create a new generation of easy-to-deploy VPN solutions based on Indus River`s technology," he says.

"New VPN products will be introduced that contain architectural elements of a new framework pioneered by Indus River which will effectively `de-mystify` the VPN concept and make it available to Enterasys dealers and resellers to introduce to their enterprise customers.

"We will present our resellers with technical solutions to create and robust virtual networked e-businesses," adds May.
