Enterprise architecture, European style

While US federal agencies scurry to get their enterprise architectures in line, their British counterparts have been deploying another framework altogether for managing IT - the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), says Malcolm Fry, BMC .

However, as GCN reports, Fry says ITIL may also be gaining popularity in the US.

Earlier this month, IT professionals packed the rooms of a modest ITIL conference in Washington.

New Zealand seeks architecture strategy

New Zealand`s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) has gone to tender for an enterprise architecture . According to tender documents, the architecture strategy will support a wider ICT strategic plan under way at the ministry, reports m-net.

"As a precursor to many enablement projects, there has been a need to ensure that we have a consistent and robust enterprise architecture against which can measure the project successes," notes the tender.

"In upgrading its infrastructure, MFAT wishes to ensure its technical solutions are fit for purpose and clearly aligned with the business needs."
