Epicor achieves Windows Server 2003 certification

Johannesburg, 03 Feb 2004

Epicor for Service Enterprises has been awarded Windows Server 2003 certification by VeriTest, an independent software testing company and authorised certification lab for Microsoft`s Certified for Windows programme.

The Certified for Windows programme establishes a technical standard that identifies applications as secure and manageable, and that run reliably on the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems.

"This solution is an end-to-end professional service automation solution for organisations based entirely on XML Web services and the Microsoft .NET framework," says Scott McKenzie, MD of New Era Solutions, local distributor of the Epicor product suite. "The solution was tested and certified for both Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition."

VeriTest measured Epicor for Service Enterprises to determine whether it meets Microsoft`s standards of reliability, availability and manageability on Windows Server platforms.

Epicor for Service Enterprises was recently named a global finalist for ".Net Application of the Year" in the annual Microsoft Certified Partner Awards and it has achieved Microsoft .Net Connected Logo certification.

"As a Web services solution Epicor for Service Enterprises manages and automates all aspects of the service organisation, from opportunity and bid management to project management, billing and collections, and sourcing and procurement," McKenzie says. "It enables services organisations to improve staff utilisation, streamline billing, prioritise important projects and drive more profitable engagements."

The solution has a scalable architecture, enabled by the Epicor Internet Component Environment platform, helping services firms to manage project portfolios and relationships with customers, partners and employees.

"Epicor for Service Enterprises provides the means to source and assign labour and resources to projects," McKenzie says. "It addresses the market`s increased demand for collaboration among customers, contractors and employees."
