Epson launches AcuLaser C8500 for next-generation colour laser printing

Epson SA has announced the local availability of its AcuLaser C8500, believed to be one of the fastest colour laser printers in its class. Ideal for business and graphics environments, this mono and colour printing solution fulfils a variety of printing requirements, from desktop publishing, spreadsheets, concept proofing to creating hard copies of Web pages.

The AcuLaser C8500 has an enhanced resolution of 2400dpi (using EPSON AcuLaser Color 2400 RIT) ensuring smooth and finely detailed images, eliminating dotted and jagged edges often found in colour text and graphics. In addition, its Dual RIP technology and powerful 266Mhz controller, enables it to print an impressive 6ppm for A4 colour and 26ppm for black and white A4 prints.

This printer features advanced printer drivers to ensure efficient data compression, keeping the computer and network resource requirements to a minimum. Furthermore, a job consisting of individual colour and mono pages, will have each printed at the appropriate rated speed for the optimum combination of quality and throughput.

In terms of paper handling, the AcuLaser C8500 handles paper sizes ranging from B5 right up to A3 with full bleed and crop marks, and can handle a variety of media from standard plain paper to 220gsm card.
