Epson launches Express Centre programme

Johannesburg, 08 Jun 2000

Epson has launched its Express Centre programme, a new warranty that will allow its customers to exchange faulty printers at Epson`s various distributors` and resellers` premises.

"Epson has a standard one-year Return to Base warranty," says Hans Dummer, Epson SA GM. "The latest inkjet and laser printers, the LX-300 dot matrix printer and cameras will all fall under the new warranty exchange programme," he explains. "These products will come with a one-year exchange product warranty, meaning that they will no longer be repaired, but rather be swapped out with a reworked product as per Epson`s world-wide quality standards."

In addition, Epson Express Centres will contain a consumables stand. "As many problems encountered arise from cartridges being empty, Epson is making consumables stands available to enable the Express centre person to sell cartridges and media to their respective consumers and customers, enabling them to solve all their problems in one stop," says Dummer. The centres will also include a brochure stand, containing information on the company`s latest developments and product lines.

The printer vendor also plans to present all customers who have had to exchange their product with a "Sorry Pack", which will contain a feedback form, and a complimentary set of Epson media, which includes an Epson t-shirt, and t-shirt transfer paper.

Epson`s local distributors and dealers can install an Express Centre, with Epson providing product, staff training and support. The programme commenced on 1 June.
