EPSON SA has announced the local availability of EPSON`s new inkjet photo quality printer, the Stylus Photo 750. The Stylus Photo 750 is aimed at photographers who require the best photographic output quality and the business or home user who needs to produce photos or a range of documents such as letters, presentation slides and invitations.
"The Stylus Photo 750 incorporates the new improvements made to the previous model, Stylus Color 740, which include reduced dot size, optimised photo quality and enhanced print speed for photos, graphic and text," says Hans Dummer, EPSON SA`s general manager. "It also has the added advantage of 6 colours to produce an extensive colour spectrum, for the best photographic prints available from any digital printer."
"The EPSON Stylus Photo 750, combined with one of EPSON`s scanners or digital cameras produces an affordable and cost-effective, high quality digital photo for the home or office user, which is priced at R 2 695 inc. VAT," he says.
Dummer goes on to say that the Stylus Photo 750 is based on EPSON`s MicroPiezo technology, which utilises a mechanical rather than thermal printing technique that functions with an electronic pulse, which varies according to printing speed, which is controlled by the user.
"This technology offers users 1440dpi printing on plain paper with the EPSON Ultra MicroDot for the most precise and accurately placed dots, which has resulted in the quality of output having increased considerably and improved shades and graininess has lead to a smaller printed dot of only 6 picolitres," he says.
"The Stylus Photo 750 has advanced 1440dpi (dots per inch) resolution with variable sized droplet technology, which uses up to six different sizes of ink droplet in the same document," adds Dummer. "This technology enables 3 different sizes of ink droplet to be created and through analysis of the page to be printed, directs the smallest droplets at areas of fine detail and increases droplet size for areas of greater coverage."
"Both the MicroPiezo technology and the Variable Sized Droplet Technology optimise speed whilst producing the best photo reproduction quality results," he says. "The printer also incorporates EPSON`s PhotoEnhance 3, a feature which optimises colour output with improved natural colour correction and enhances the quality of web graphics or other digital images."
"The Stylus Photo 750 uses EPSON`s AcuPhoto Half toning, which produces a smooth and accurate colour shade, without compromising on speed," he says. "6 colour quickdry inks, specially formulated by EPSON, dry immediately, producing smudge free documents and allow for reproduction of a greater amount of various shades producing deeper, richer, more life like colours and sharp laser like text on various media types."
Dummer explains that the Stylus Photo 750z utilises Bi-directional printing at 1440dpi and high capacity dual ink cartridges for high volumes of printing. "The dual ink cartridge system provides one for black ink and one for all colours which adds simplicity to cartridge replacement."
"The Stylus Photo 750 includes the USB (Universal Serial Bus) for Windows `98 and Apple`s iMac as well as parallel and Mac serial Type B interfaces," he concludes. "The printer has support for the standard colour matching systems for both Windows and Macintosh in order to give excellent colour accuracy."
