Ericsson announces new CEO
Ericsson's board of directors has appointed Hans Vestberg president and CEO of Ericsson as of 1 January 2010, reports Reuters.
Hans Vestberg is currently CFO and executive vice-president. Hans Vestberg is succeeding Carl-Henric Svanberg, who has accepted to take on the position as chairman of BP.
Hans Vestberg became senior vice-president and head of business unit Global Services in 2003 and was appointed executive vice-president in 2005. Vestberg was appointed chief financial officer in 2007.
Satyam reshuffles leadership
Mahindra Satyam will see another round of reshuffling of top executives today that will see outgoing CEO AS Murthy getting a new designation and US-based head of commercial division Ram Mynampati being replaced, reports The Economic Times.
Mynampati, who was the president of the commercial and healthcare divisions, has been replaced by Keshav Panda, sources close to the development says.
Panda, who was the head of the Europe business, would be replaced by someone from within the Tech Mahindra Group.
Internet2 CTO starts soon
Next week Randy Frank will take over as the new CTO of Internet2, a consortium of 200 US universities conducting advanced networking research, according to Computerworld.
Frank joins Internet2 from Fidelity Investments, where he was chief technologist for the financial services firm's Centre for Applied Technology.
Before that corporate post, Frank ran high-performance computing centres and research networks for the University of Michigan and the University of Utah.
