Computer Associates International, Inc (CA) announced today that Esselte, the leading global office supplies manufacturer, has selected CA`s Unicenter ServicePlus Service Desk (Unicenter ServicePlus SD) to support its unified global network infrastructure and critical client databases. Esselte develops innovative solutions that make it easier for people to organise the modern home and workplace.
Unicenter ServicePlus SD will enable Esselte to significantly enhance service levels and reduce costs by increasing automation. Esselte`s three-tiered data centre is being completely re-architected as an integrated, self-managed infrastructure to better support clients and internal users.
Unicenter ServicePlus Service Desk is tightly integrated with existing deployments of CA technology - Unicenter Network and Systems Management Unicenter Asset Management, Unicenter Software Delivery, and Unicenter Remote Control. This will enable Esselte`s IT department to align itself to the needs of a global business.
"CA`s management expertise in the enterprise is fundamental to our future strategy as it relates to new technologies and initiatives, such as on-demand computing," states Didier Vanfleteren, Esselte`s director of global technical engineering and infrastructure.
"Unicenter enables us to leverage our existing IT investments and significantly cut costs by centralising our global infrastructure management and application deployment from three global data centres, instead of every office handling it locally.
"We are excited about Esselte`s interest in integrating CA solutions as a key component of their growth strategy and Unicenter will provide them with the enterprise management, automation and operational efficiencies needed to achieve excellence on a global basis," said Louis Blatt, senior vice-president for Unicenter infrastructure management at CA.
