The National Curriculum Web site uses Openharmonise to support a large and highly complex classification system to link specific parts of the National Curriculum to relevant content and its teaching resources. The technology is connected via SOAP Web service to the Department of Education and Skills Curriculum Online gateway.
10 content management tips

"A bad CMS (or a good one that`s not well managed) will lead to a bad Web site over time," introduces Howard.
He explains the 10 checkpoints everyone should consider when implementing a CMS:
1. Don`t build custom software to do content management
2. Don`t over-engineer
3. Support is more important than software
4. Organise your site properly
5. Make sure the user interface is basic
6. Prototype
7. Training and the user manual can determine success
8. Don`t forget e-mail, search and RSS
