Dell today announced availability of the Precision Workstation 360, a single-processor personal workstation with significant performance advantages over the previous generation. The Dell Precision 360 is immediately available to European customers and will be available to other regions shortly.
The Dell Precision 360`s performance gains are largely the result of a new chipset, the Intel 875P, featuring Performance Acceleration Technology. The chipset is optimised for workstations, with reduced memory latency and increased bus bandwidth, resulting in a faster, more balanced overall architecture. The 875P chipset also supports 8X AGP graphics accelerators.
Storage options on the Dell Precision 360 include native support for Serial ATA or add-on SCSI hard drives with optional RAID configurations. The system features an Intel PRO/1000 MT Gigabit (10/100/1000) Ethernet controller for fast, reliable networking.
All Dell Precision workstations are designed for customers who demand workstation hardware certification with independent software vendors (ISVs) in computer-aided design, engineering, digital content creation, geographic information systems, computer animation, software development and financial analysis markets.
