Exact wins MSC leadership award

Exact Holding N.V.`s (Exact) main development center (Exact ADC) has been granted the "Leadership in ICT R&D Award" for its "Outstanding Contribution in Product Development in Enterprise Solution". Of the more than 1,400 MSC-status organizations, 6 companies, including Motorola, Intel and BT have received the MSC Leadership Award for their research and development efforts. Located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Exact ADC is the main development centre of Exact Software worldwide, established in 1996 and currently employing more than 400 people.

The Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), a Malaysian government owned body, is annually rewarding organizations which have:

* Undertaken high value work;
* Undertaken substantial contribution to the growth of the ICT industry in Malaysia and the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC); and
* Maintain high degree of compliance to the standards / guidelines set by the MSC.

The award was presented at a ceremony in Cyberjaya held in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the MSC. The ceremony was attended amongst others by Malaysia`s Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC)

The Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) in Malaysia is a government owned body that was incorporated in 1996 with the aim of implementing the MSC (Multimedia Super Coridor) project.

Under its charter, MDeC has been given the responsibility to achieve the above objective by:

1. Bringing in foreign investments
2. Developing local ICT industry
3. Contribute to socio-economic development through the MSC flagship applications, including reducing digital divide.

MDeC has contributed immensely to bring companies and investments into the MSC and implement programs to address the issue of digital divide through its various flagship applications and community projects. It also works with other government agencies to ensure that the infrastructure and other supporting framework are made available.

MDeC is also mandated to use its knowledge and network to facilitate connections among various ICT industry communities to promote business opportunities, learning and growth. It also works to connect the broader Malaysian business community and population to ICT benefits and opportunities while connecting homegrown ICT talents and companies to opportunities worldwide.
