Expand Networks, the leader in optimising WANs for branch office consolidation and virtualisation, today announced that it has been positioned by leading analyst firm Gartner in the Leaders' quadrant of its 2009 'WAN Optimisation Controllers Magic Quadrant', based upon its ability to execute and completeness of vision. The report, authored by Andy Rolfe and Joe Skorupa, was published on 30 June 2009 and can be viewed here.
Gartner's definition of companies within the Leaders' quadrant is: “Leaders exhibit an ability to shape the market by introducing additional capabilities in their product offerings and by raising awareness of the importance of these features. We expect a Leader to be growing the market as a whole, and to have solutions that resonate with an increasing number of enterprises. Leaders in the WOC market need to have a broad feature set, including QOS, generic compression, protocol acceleration and file system acceleration, with the majority of features proven in substantial real-world implementations. They also need to be able to offer sales and support on a global basis.”
“We are delighted to be positioned by Gartner as a 'Leader' in its latest 'WAN Optimisation Controllers Magic Quadrant' for 2009. From my perspective, this is a true testament to our proven ability to execute on our business strategy, sales objectives and technical direction,” explained Adam Davison, VP corporate sales and marketing, Expand Networks. “Our product innovation continues to set new industry standards, while effectively addressing the many challenges faced by today's enterprises in balancing a distributed organisation against the backdrop of centralised and virtualised IT infrastructures.”
Expand has a broad and comprehensive range of WAN optimisation solutions for data centre, branch office, remote user and mobile workforce environments. It's portfolio of Accelerator platforms are available as hardware appliances, virtual images for virtualised infrastructures and client software for remote desktops and laptops, all running a single operating system and centrally managed by ExpandView, offering greater deployment flexibility and manageability. Its innovative virtualisation capabilities mean that it can both operate as a virtual solution within virtualised infrastructures as well as being able to accelerate virtualised applications. Expand's solutions address many of today's enterprise challenges and IT initiatives, including server-based computing, server consolidation and replacement, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and satellite link optimisation.
