Nology, a distributing agent of broadband and networking solutions, has expanded its offering to the South Africa market to include AirLive's newest range of IP cameras; a range that is ideal for those users who want to keep an eye on things at home, when at work or on vacation, at an affordable price.
The WL-1000CAM, Low-Light Wireless-G Multi-Profile IP Camera (WL-2000CAM) and Wireless-G Dual Stream IP Camera (WL-1200CAM) feature motion detection and even low-light functionality, as in the case of the WL-2000CAM. The motion detection functionality delivers intelligence where, for example, the camera will only record footage if movement is detected.
Says Pierre Holtzhausen, channel manager at Nology: "With the motion detection function, an auto-record function is triggered and an e-mail notification is sent immediately, therefore optimising surveillance of the area where the camera is positioned, be it in the living room or a child's bedroom."
The IP cameras can attach up to three images in the e-mail so users can assess the situation without physically visiting the area in question. Plus, both the AirLive WL-2000CAM and WL-1200CAM include two-way audio, which provides real-time communication between the camera and the PC, again optimising surveillance.
Also, the cameras' RTSP protocol feature allows 3G and 2.5G mobile phones to display captured images from the camera for live video surveillance from any remote location.
Further enhancing surveillance is the AirLive WL-2000CAM's low-light feature, which essentially incorporates six built-in auto-sensor LEDs and automatic night mode, therefore delivering image detail despite the ambience. So if it gets dark, the camera will compensate and the images will still be of a good, viewable quality.
Says Holtzhausen: "The AirLive IP cameras provide users with both the advanced motion detection functionality and low-light optimisation required to monitor specific areas. In today's uncertain climate it is important to have that additional protection, enabling you to react immediately in the case of any suspicious activity."
The WL IP cameras feature high frame rate of up to 640x480, 30 frames per second video stream in either a MPEG-4 or Motion JPEG video compression.
Holtzhausen adds: "Plus, with it's built-in Web server, AirLive latest IP cameras are also designed to be connected to a network, either over Wireless-G (802.11g), or over 10/100 Ethernet cable. Additionally, the WL-2000CAM features controllable frame rate and bandwidth allocation. This makes the cameras equally ideal for mothers who want to monitor their children remotely and businesses that are keeping an eye on who is entering the premises."
Further making theses products attractive is ease of operation. These cameras' intuitive control panel features a wizard that simplifies use and incorporates drag-and-drop functionality.
