Under the deal, the two companies will build a cloud solution, called eZ Publish Cloud, which turns eZ's open source Web content management platform, eZ Publish, into a customised cloud edition.

Ixonos has already released an open and secure enterprise cloud offering, called Ixonos Elastic Cloud, the first Red Hat-certified cloud, which is designed for enterprise customers running their applications in Red Hat Linux environments, CBR states.

Forming the basis of eZ Publish, Cloud Ixonos Elastic Cloud allows eZ customers to benefit from platform stability as well as a high degree of service and support.

One of the new aspects of the solution is that eZ users will also be able to use some of the customisable cloud products that Ixonos has developed in-house, CMS Wire says.

This includes the app-store platform Ixonos Experience Store, as well as City Online municipal e-government services, which will be made available via the eZ Market.
