F5 updates Microsoft Exchange 2010 solution portfolio

Application Ready Solutions help optimise and scale deployments of Microsoft Exchange 2010.

To support customers using Microsoft Corp's new release of Exchange Server, F5 provides solutions to ensure efficient application delivery, improved scalability, and enhanced performance for Exchange Server 2010.

F5 Application Ready Solutions enable customers to fully leverage the advanced messaging functionality in Exchange 2010. With these new solutions, Exchange Client Access Servers (CAS) can now handle all client connections (including MAPI), enabling F5 technology to optimise all messaging traffic in an Exchange deployment.

Highlights of Application Ready Solutions for Exchange 2010:
* Deployment guidance and ready-made application templates for joint deployments F5 provides comprehensive configuration and deployment guides along with solution briefs to help customers efficiently deploy BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) and WebAccelerator products with Exchange 2010. F5's simple, fast implementation aids result in fewer errors than manual configuration methods. Ready-made application templates include a 60-second wizard to configure BIG-IP solutions with Microsoft Exchange 2010.

* Advanced application delivery optimisation
Application Ready Solutions outline configuration and deployment strategies to optimise application delivery and provide optimum scalability for Exchange 2010 deployments. F5 BIG-IP solutions' advanced application delivery capabilities include SSL offload, acceleration, compression, and caching. By offloading server resources, BIG-IP solutions improve capacity of Client Access Servers and reduce time to download email attachments by up to 90%.

* Exchange messaging optimisation
Tested, validated solutions help users optimise and scale messaging applications. Solutions include optimised e-mail attachment downloading, encrypted transfer of transaction logs during cluster node failover, spam filtering, endpoint trust management for Web clients, and BIG-IP application templates for easy configuration.

* iControl API Support
F5's customisable iControl API enables integration into heterogeneous environments and message traffic routing between geographically dispersed data centres.
