Failed number purge

By BulkSMS.com
Johannesburg, 26 Nov 2003

Many companies use bulk SMS messaging to communicate with their clients on a regular basis. Over time some of these mobile numbers become inoperative for various reasons.

This accumulation of failed numbers bring about adverse effects on the overall performance and outcome of a bulk messaging campaign. The networks bill for all messages sent, including those that are sent to inoperative numbers. Inoperative numbers are also eventually allocated to new clients that could then end up receiving completely irrelevant messages. Consequently BulkSMS has developed a process for removing ineffective mobile numbers from a database using a feature called `Failed Number Purge`.

This feature is used to better maintain your on-line phonebook groups by allowing you to purge mobile numbers based on a continuous number of SMS delivery failures.

Following the purge process all failed mobile numbers are moved to a special `Failed Number` group for future deletion or correction as the user desires.

By performing routine database clean-up and purge tasks the profitability, performance and feasibility of a bulk messaging campaign increases tremendously.
