Fallout 3 too real

In making Fallout 3, Bethesda recreated Washington DC and the surrounding area surprisingly accurately (though distances were significantly shrunk), writes GamesRadar.

The resemblance was too strong for some; certain DC residents were miffed about Fallout 3 subway ads that depicted their city in ruins, claiming they didn't need to be reminded that DC is a prime target for terrorist attacks.

Apparently, no one told them that DC is destroyed in nearly every hypothetical war/alien invasion.

Nintendo makes $6 per Wii

One of the reasons why Nintendo's Wii is so special is the design and sheer concept on which the entire gaming console is based, reports eFluxMedia.

Financially, platform makers in the videogame industry have the habit of losing money on the hardware they sell, but they regain money through the sales of games, either third-party or their own.

The Wii is special in this category too, as experts have concluded that Nintendo makes a profit of $6 on every console sold.

Activision downloads content

Downloadable content hasn't traditionally been one of the main selling points for Activision's Guitar Hero series, says Gamespot.

That stance has perceptibly changed with World Tour, due in part to the fact that Activision now has a studio: its purpose is to create DLC for the rhythm-game franchise.

Examples thus far released for World Tour include tracks from the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Raconteurs, REM, Boston, Foreigner, and Oasis.
