JSE-listed Faritec has won a R15 million deal to implement and support a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system at Federated Timbers.
The deal will see Faritec implement a complete ERP system across the entire Federated Timbers organisation over 15 months, and over the next five years continue to provide services to host the application, perform system support and provide user training.
The solution is to be implemented at Federated Timbers` 30 South African locations, which account for about 500 system users.
The deal was awarded after the economically useful life of Federated Timbers` previous system had ended.
Faritec says the solution - the Kerridge K8 building merchant system - will be fully managed, with all configuration, maintenance and monitoring managed remotely from Faritec`s client support centre in Johannesburg.
"We took into account the need for Federated Timbers to trade in many different ways and cater for multiple routes to market," says Faritec director John King. "Central to this need was the ability to maximise customer service, maintain excellent branch communications and allow varied stocking strategies in different branches."
The solution allows Federated Timbers to integrate all of its core trading, stock control, merchandising and financial systems.
