A pressing need to ensure that all its mission critical systems and subsystems are year 2000 ready has led to FedHealth Technologies deploying Greenwich Mean Time`s Check 2000 suite of diagnostic and corrective year 2000 PC software.
Health companies falling under the Fedsure Group include Fedsure Health, Norwich Health Care and D&E Health. It also provides IT solutions for Medway Health.
According to Philip Willemse, Year 2000 Co-ordinator at Fedsure Health, three year 2000 PC corrective tools were evaluated last year resulting in Check 2000 offering the most advanced functionality at cost effective pricing.
"We are currently in the process of installing 840 licenses at the four health care companies and are very enthusiastic with early results. A further reason why we chose the product is that functionality does not cease at midnight on December 31, but the tool can continue to be used as a software and network management solution as well as a security system. Continued year 2000 readiness will also continue to be tested as an ongoing safety procedure," says Willemse.
A software distribution system allows FedHealth to distribute Check 2000 across the network from a central server or a network administrator`s workstation.
Willemse is also in the process of distributing a Desktop Computing Information and Approach document, which is a guide designed for users advising them about year 2000 problems and how Check 2000 solves them.
