The new FibreCAT CX600 expands the FibreCAT system family at the high-end delivering the highest levels of connectivity, performance and capacity. It allows users to consolidate their entire Windows and Unix environments into a single networked storage infrastructure, at optimal total cost of ownership (TCO). Its advanced software capabilities enable uninterrupted operation while guaranteeing highest levels of availability and support for effective disaster recovery.
FibreCAT CX600 is added to the FibreCAT family of end-to-end 2Gbit Fibre Channel Networked Storage Systems. Connectivity, performance and capacity have been increased retaining full compatibility with the same valued and robust software suite available across the existing FibreCAT FC series. Users get the full benefit of 6th generation management software in 'Navisphere`, second-generation software in both 'SnapView` (Data replication) and 'MirrorView` (Data mirroring) generating continuity for the data centre processes they have already in place for an existing FibreCAT installation.
Big - the FibreCAT CX600 extends by a factor of two to four the feature range of the existing FibreCAT family: eight host connects, 256 hosts, up to 240 drives, 8GB cache and up to 1024 LUNs (Logical Unit Numbers) This enables online storage consolidation and very attractive TCO for a wide range of enterprises.
Fast - the FibreCAT CX600 leverages its full 2Gb Fibre Channel architecture to deliver world-class performance including unmatched processing power based on four 2GHz CPUs which enable up to 150.000 I/Os per second and a bandwidth of 1.300MB per second. More applications and transactions can now be run with better response time based on one single storage system.
Lean - the FibreCAT CX600 improves on FibreCAT`s modular design to deliver more capacity with the same footprint. Complete systems, including Storage Processor Enclosure (SPE), Stand-by Power Supply (SPS), and Disk Array Enclosure (DAE), range from only 8-Units of rack space to a full 42-Unit cabinet hosting up to 180 drives that provide a capacity of more than 13TB. This assures a comfortable growth path without any additional environmental impact.
As a result of Fujitsu Siemens Computers close cooperation with its long-term strategic partner EMC the FibreCAT CX600 is provided with the richest set of software functionality of any storage system in the mid-tier market and fully embedded into the AutoIS strategy for making networked storage environments simple, automated and open. AutoIS enables users to overcome the complexity challenges of multi-vendor storage systems by focusing on three key areas: 'Infrastructure Services` for the virtualisation of data location, mobility, and presentation of networked storage resources; 'Information Safety` for the protection and recovery of essential data assets; and 'Intelligent Supervision` for the management, monitoring, and reporting of open networked storage environments.
